eBay auction sniper

Site Update - 2007-10-01
Things are running more smoothly now.

It seems as though no more members are attempting to schedule snipes without submitting their eBay login information.  That was causing a problem before, because a couple of members somehow set up the snipes even though Hidbid's system is designed to reject snipes that are scheduled without a member's eBay info being submitted.
It looks like the text we added to the welcome e-mail and on the snipe set up page took care of what must have been unclear to some members.
I imagine you have seen this notice on the site, just to remind you again, here it is:
* Hidbid must have your eBay login information in order to execute a snipe (placed a bid) for you that you have scheduled.  If you change your eBay info, be sure to update it here on Hidbid before scheduling another snipe.

eBay sites compatibility update

Hidbid will work with eBay US, UK, Canada, and Australia. You can currently only search eBay US right now, but we plan to add the capability to search eBay's UK, Canada, and Australia sites very soon. As of right now, to set up a snipe for an item on eBay UK, Canada, or Australia, copy the item number shown on the item's description page on eBay, and paste it into the "Item #" field shown on your member page on Hidbid.
We have updated the FAQ page, we incorrectly stated that Hidbid works with all international eBay sites.
Sorry about any inconvenience that this inaccuracy may have caused.
If there is a particular eBay site that you are interested in, let us know. We may try to add the capability to work with more international eBay sites if it seems like enough of our members are interested.

A Couple of Issues

While working on Hidbid's programming, the glitch was created that prevented a member's eBay login information from being saved.
Because of this, some members' snipes that were scheduled were not executed.  We believe we have fixed this.
However, members that have registered within the last five days (9/10-9/14) and have set up snipes, may need to reenter your eBay login information in order for your snipes to be executed.
Also, a couple of members have managed to set up snipes without submitting their eBay login information.  Hidbid's system is designed to require such information before processing a snipe to be scheduled.
We tested how this could be bypassed.  It seems that if incorrect eBay login information is submitted and a user repeatedly tries to submit a snipe to be scheduled, eventually Hidbid will accept it.
Hidbid cannot place a bid (snipe) without having the correct eBay login information for the member setting up the snipe.  Hidbid must essentially login to eBay just as you would, to place a bid for you.  Any snipes scheduled that were set up using incorrect or incomplete eBay login information cannot be placed.
Any member that believes that they have submitted their correct eBay login information while scheduling a snipe, and that snipe was not executed, please contact us and let us know.
We are trying hard to identify any glitches in our system and correct them, and also make Hidbid as easy as possible to use.
Any input from our members is greatly appreciated.
