some snipe trouble - 2009-07-15
We're having trouble with some snipes again. It looks like some items are coming back as 'This Page Is No Longer Available' for the response from ebay's site.
We're not sure if the new listing page ebay has is the cause or if it's something else.
This error is not occurring often and the vast majority of snipes are executing fine, but until we identify and fix the problem, it may be a good idea to make other plans for your ebay bidding.
We're very sorry for any missed snipes that you may have scheduled.
If you have had a problem, please let us know and describe what happened (did the problem happen during scheduling, or later, what did you see on your 'my snipes' page, etc.) we would greatly appreciate it as we can use the info to better understand what is happening.
We hope to have this figured out shortly and when we do, we'll update this news page.
Snipes not executing - 2009-06-07
We have been having trouble with snipe execution today.
Being the weekend, our coder is not available to check things out.
Some snipes are showing as already being executed (won or lost) while the corresponding auctions are still active.
This has been happening periodically for a while but not to the extent it seems to be happening today.
It has been difficult to identify and fix the problem.
We are very sorry for any missed snipes that you may have scheduled.
If you have subscribed to our premium service and have had trouble, let us know and we will refund your subscription for this month.
when this has happened to a member in the past, it normally passes in a day and things run smoothly again. This may be/may not be the case now, I really don't know.
It may be a good idea for you to make other plans for your eBay bidding until things are running more smoothly.
I'll update our new section here when there is further news.
Again, we are very sorry for any trouble this has caused you.
Update - 2008-08-30
As you may have noticed, an eBay item's information will now show up when you set up a snipe by item #.
They're also should be no more occurrences of a scheduled snipe being shown as "won" (by displaying the trophy image as the "state") immediately after setting it up and before it is time to execute.
We are going to activate the five snipe per week limit today. When you attempt to set up your 6th snipe in the same week, instead of seeing the snipe setup page, you will see a notice explaining that you have reached your limit for the week and that you can either subscribe to our service by clicking on the PayPal subscription button included on that page, or you can wait until the following week when you again will have five free snipe's to use.
Remember, if you do subscribe to our service, there will be a $7 fee automatically deducted from your PayPal account each month. You can cancel your subscription at any time by logging into your PayPal account and following the instructions for canceling a subscription.
We may add the ability for you to make a one-time payment for a single month, however our payment system is not presently set up that way.
We do not want to trap you into having the payment automatically deducted each month if you are not going to use our service. You could always subscribe to our service and then cancel before the end of the month if you only needed one month of unlimited snipes.
As stated in the update posted days ago on your eBay member page in the right hand column, the problem with snipes immediately showing as not being executed immediately after setting them up, was fixed the next day. We should have also updated the news section with that information.
